About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Financial Officer | Chief Operating Officer (CFO/COO) to join their mission-driven organization. The successful candidate will be a strategic, hands-on leader with a strong background in finance and operations, particularly in the context of real estate development, facilities management, or similarly complex mission-driven entities. This role is pivotal in advancing the Foundation's partnerships, with a focus on the charter management company that operates the schools. The CFO/COO will be responsible for all financial matters, including budgeting, financial reporting, and ensuring the Foundation's long-term sustainability. They must be adept at managing complexity, building scalable systems, and aligning resources with the organization's mission and growth priorities. Applicants for the CFO/COO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' leadership experience in finance and operations, with a proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The role requires a leader with a strong commitment to mission-driven service, high integrity, and the ability to balance financial discipline with the advancement of the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have a background in nonprofit accounting standards, compliance, and board-level financial reporting, and experience with process improvement and organizational planning. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, with a Master's degree and professional certification being a plus. The CFO/COO will also be responsible for talent development, change management, and ensuring the Foundation's facilities and properties are managed in a financially stable and mission-aligned manner.
