Job Description
Registered Nurse - Orthopedic/Neuro Trauma

Schedule

12-hour night shift. Options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required.

Assignment Details

Target patient ratios of 1:5-6. Potential for floating to similar units and alternate care locations.

Requirements

• Active RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years RN clinical experience within the last 5 years.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system is required.
• Previous experience in orthopedic, trauma, or neuro fields preferred.
• Skills in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central line/PICC/peripheral line care, IV starts, phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, airway management, dysrhythmia management, chest tubes, surgical drains, wound care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a focus on orthopedic and neuro trauma.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions to evaluate the effectiveness of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education sessions.

Compliance / Notes

Flu vaccine required unless exempt for medical or religious reasons. Candidates may need to pass EKG testing before starting. RTO after booking is restricted. Must work two of three major holidays.
