Operations Director – Variable & Fixed Operations Haggerty Auto Group Locations: Villa Park | Glen Ellyn | West Chicago, IL Full-Time | Direct Hire | Confidential Search About the Opportunity Haggerty Auto Group is seeking an experienced, results-driven Operations Director to provide leadership and strategic oversight across our Variable and Fixed Operations. This is a highly important leadership position within our family-owned and operated dealership group , with responsibility for partnering directly with ownership and dealership management to improve profitability, operational efficiency, accountability, and overall performance across multiple rooftops. The ideal candidate will have extensive automotive dealership experience and a strong understanding of both Variable and Fixed Operations . This individual will work closely with department managers and ownership to identify opportunities, establish performance expectations, improve processes, and drive results across the organization. Our dealerships include Haggerty Buick/GMC in Villa Park, Jerry Haggerty Chevrolet in Glen Ellyn, and Haggerty Ford in West Chicago , along with our centralized collision center operations.

BASE SALARY $175,000 + COMMISSIONS

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Ownership Partnership Partner directly with dealership ownership on operational strategy and long-term financial goals. Provide insight, recommendations, and accountability to dealership department managers. Establish and monitor performance metrics across departments. Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Assist ownership and management with operational challenges and department turnarounds. Fixed Operations Provide strategic oversight of Service and Parts Operations. Improve service pricing, technician productivity, workflow, and overall department profitability. Maximize Fixed Operations absorption and departmental performance. Assist with parts inventory management and expense control. Coordinate Fixed Operations and collision center processes across multiple rooftops. Variable Operations Work closely with Sales Management to improve retail traffic, sales volume, commercial opportunities, and overall profitability. Strengthen CRM processes, lead execution, follow-up, and customer retention. Promote collaboration between Variable and Fixed Operations to maximize total dealership profitability. Multi-Rooftop Operations Coordinate operational strategies across Ford and GM dealerships. Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and consistency across the group. Support DMS optimization and dealership processes. Monitor CSI and customer experience benchmarks across all locations. Encourage communication and collaboration between departments and rooftops. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will bring: Extensive experience in automotive dealership operations. Strong knowledge of both Variable and Fixed Operations . Proven experience managing and developing dealership department managers. Demonstrated success improving dealership profitability and operational performance. Strong understanding of dealership P&L, expense management, forecasting, and financial performance. Experience with multi-rooftop dealership operations is highly preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to establish accountability while building strong relationships with managers and employees. Experience with DMS systems and dealership technology. A strategic, hands-on approach to dealership operations.
