Lecturer or Professional Practice Assistant Professor – Nursing Assistant Location: Moab, UT Position Type: Full‑time, academic year (9 months), non‑tenure‑track term lecturer – 95% teaching, 5% service. Start: August 2026. Salary: Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits. Overview The Technology, Design, and Technical Education (TDTE) department at Utah State University seeks a faculty member for the Moab campus to teach in the Nursing Assistant program. The role involves classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction, supporting high‑quality nurse assisting education, preparing students for entry‑level nurse assisting positions in alignment with the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry (UNAR) standards and state/federal regulations. Responsibilities Act under the general supervision of the Health Professions Program Supervisor. Ensure program conduct complies with all federal regulations, state rules, and UNAR policy. Maintain accurate documentation of student attendance and skill development. Guide classroom instruction according to the approved UNAR Nursing Assistant Curriculum. Maintain the classroom and laboratory to UNAR standards. Order and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Collaborate with CTE Pathway Programs to recruit students into Nursing Assistant program classes. Verify that each student's name meets all completion requirements. Teach additional health professions courses as assigned, in accordance with the Utah System of Higher Education Instructional Workload Guidelines. Perform other related duties as requested by the Health Professions Program Supervisor and the office of UNAR. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Licensed registered nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years of nursing experience, including at least one year in the provision of long‑term care facility services or caring for the elderly or chronically ill. Candidate must be reasonable for UNAR approval, which requires: Completion of the UNAR Instructor approval packet. Licensed nurse in good standing with the Utah Department of Professional Licensure. Resume detailing at least two years of nursing experience, explicitly indicating at least one year in long‑term care or related services. Completion of a UNAR‑approved "Train the Trainer" program or demonstrated competence to teach adult learners. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Prior teaching, clinical instruction, or precepting experience. Experience working with nurse‑assisting students. Familiarity with UNAR standards and regulatory compliance.
