Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Registered Nurse Certifications: CPR, HWC Must-Have Skills/Experience: Experience with crisis intervention. Verbal de-escalation skills. Active listening skills. Empathetic communication skills. Description: The role involves working within an acute inpatient behavioral health and addictions setting. Staff will rotate between two units within the facility. There are 48 beds available with a patient ratio of 12:1, which may vary depending on census. Patients must be medically cleared before arriving. Patients with medical lines or tubes are generally excluded, with few exceptions. Charting is primarily done on paper, and a specific platform is utilized for entering orders. Medications are retrieved from an automated dispensing system. Required competencies include accurate and thorough charting and effective behavioral management skills. Common diagnoses treated include substance abuse disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, and anxiety disorders. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and a positive team player, demonstrating empathy and kindness in their interactions. The dress code requires navy blue scrubs, and hoodies are not acceptable attire.
