Tax Staff Accountant

Location: Chevy Chase, MD (Red Line Metro Access)
Position Type: Full-Time, In-Office Only
Must Be Located in the Washington, DC Metro Area

Liptz, Roberts, Marquez, Merkle, Singh & Zipor, Chartered is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant or CPA to join our growing CPA firm. We are looking to hire immediately and are seeking candidates with at least 3 years of public accounting and tax experience .

This is an in-office position only . Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available.

Responsibilities

Prepare individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120S, 1065)
Prepare tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments
Calculate projected tax liabilities
Develop supporting workpapers for tax engagements
Perform bookkeeping and accounting write-up services
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and cash flow reports
Process payroll and prepare payroll tax returns
Record adjusting journal entries
Assist with compilations and other accounting engagements
Analyze financial data, budgets, and business operations
Work directly with clients and partners on accounting and tax matters

Qualifications

Required:

3+ years of tax preparation experience
Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Stable work history
Ability to manage multiple deadlines

Preferred:

CPA license or CPA candidate
QuickBooks experience
ProSystem fx experience
Payroll processing experience
Experience with compilations and deferred compensation plans
