Senior QA Automation Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC or Jacksonville, FL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role involves championing a quality-first culture by driving testing approaches, participating in design discussions, and establishing QA best practices. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing test plans, performing various types of testing, and building automation frameworks using tools like Python, Playwright, and Robot Framework within a complex, enterprise-scale environment.

Responsibilities:

• Champion a quality-first culture across engineering and product teams
• Drive testing approaches and influence design decisions to improve product stability and quality
• Participate in architectural and design discussions, providing input on testability and quality impact
• Participate in requirements reviews, technical design sessions, backlog refinement, and sprint ceremonies
• Translate business and technical requirements into detailed test plans, test cases, and test suites
• Analyze defects to find root causes and recommend systemic improvements
• Provide visibility into quality status using dashboards, metrics, and analytics
• Establish and continually refine QA best practices, standards, and guidelines

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on QA experience in enterprise-scale or high-complexity environments with at least 3 years in senior/lead QA roles
• Experience developing detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on functional and technical requirements
• Ability to perform functional, regression, integration, usability, and exploratory testing for complex web workflows
• Proven experience identifying defects, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with developers and product owners for resolution
• Experience with end-to-end testing of APIs, UI components, backend services, and database transactions
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks including Robot Framework, Playwright, Pytest, TestNG, etc
• Proven experience building and maintaining automation frameworks (UI, API, backend)
• Deep experience with API testing, schema validation, and automated API frameworks and solid understanding of microservices, distributed systems
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and communication skills
• Languages: Python, SQL
• Automation Tools: Playwright, Pytest, Robot Framework
• API Testing: Postman, Insomnia
• DevOps CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions
• Version Control: Git
• Test Management: Jira, TestRail

Desired Skills:

• Prior experience in regulated industries such as banking or financial services
• Proficiency with Python for test automation
• Performance testing experience with JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or similar tools
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and work with engineering teams to optimize system performance

Pay range: $50.42 - $58.42 per hour
