HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is designated a Level II Trauma Center, awarded by the Florida Department of Health. We are certified as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. Always offering the best for our patients, Aventura's Comprehensive Community Cancer Program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. We are an American College of Radiology accredited Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, taking screenings seriously. Permanent Position Pay Rate: $36.69- $50.34 (Base on years of experience) Sign on bonus: $5000
Job Summary
The Trauma Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In partnership with medical providers, the RN recognizes and reacts to emergent situations and assists in surgical site verification. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitor response.
- Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
Job Qualifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse
- Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
- Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Minimum 2 years of trauma/ER/critical care acute care experience
