Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor – Day Shift Job Description This role oversees day-shift maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, effective work order management, and safe operations in a complex manufacturing environment. The position focuses on planning and scheduling maintenance, optimizing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating parts and vendors, and supporting continuous improvement across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Responsibilities Receive, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion of critical tasks. Track the progress of maintenance work orders and communicate status updates clearly to the maintenance and operations teams. Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, monitoring their progress and effectiveness. Maintain an accurate inventory of critical spare parts to minimize equipment downtime. Coordinate with purchasing to order required parts and materials in a timely and cost-effective manner. Negotiate with contractors and vendors to secure reasonable pricing and ensure that the scope of work is accurate and complete. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including equipment history, downtime, and repairs. Establish appropriate scorecard metrics each quarter and ensure they are tracked and maintained. Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures. Support root cause analysis of safety incidents to prevent recurrence and improve overall safety performance. Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (UpKeep CMMS) to manage work orders, assets, and maintenance data. Assist with budgeting and cost control for the maintenance team to support efficient use of resources. Support capital projects and new equipment installations by coordinating maintenance involvement and readiness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and direction to maintenance personnel as needed. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in maintenance management, maintenance supervision, or a similar leadership role in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment. Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution. Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably UpKeep, to manage work orders and assets. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and blueprints. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail and record-keeping. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with maintenance teams, operations, vendors, and contractors. Solid understanding of maintenance safety practices and commitment to safe work methods. Ability to support and participate in root cause analysis for safety and equipment incidents. Additional Skills & Qualifications Education or practical experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing field. Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling tools and methods. Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and basic controls diagnostics. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial environment. Experience coordinating with purchasing and managing vendor relationships. Ability to analyze maintenance data and scorecard metrics to drive performance improvements. Comfort working in a large-scale fabrication, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing facility. Why Work Here? The environment is hands-on, equipment-intensive, and safety-focused, with frequent interaction with production areas, heavy machinery, and fabrication processes. Team members work with modern maintenance tools and a CMMS (UpKeep) and are expected to follow appropriate industrial attire and safety gear requirements suitable for a heavy manufacturing setting.
