Job Title: EPC Cost Estimator III

Location: Remote (Michigan Preferred)

Duration: Until Jun 2027 (with a possibility of extension)

Work Schedule:

• Fully Remote (Candidate location must be included on resume and in submittal)
• Eastern Time Zone preferred
• Core working hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST
• Candidates must be available and responsive during these hours

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced EPC Cost Estimator III to support engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing complete project estimates, performing quantity take-offs, developing pricing, and supporting cost analysis activities across multiple disciplines. This role requires a strong understanding of construction estimating practices, cost control methodologies, and industry-standard estimating tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare complete cost estimates for assigned projects of medium size and complexity.
• Develop pricing utilizing industry-standard estimating guidelines and cost databases.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and utilize estimating software tools effectively.
• Prepare discipline-specific estimates by calculating complete scope quantities.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimate requirements.
• Coordinate estimating efforts for assigned bids and projects.
• Maintain estimate backup documentation and support cost database updates.
• Interface with owners, engineering firms, and contractors regarding project feasibility, engineering data, and cost information.
• Develop estimates within a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) format, including Material, Labor, and Equipment costs.
• Apply estimating standards for markups, contingency, escalation, and other construction cost factors.
• Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Knowledge of construction estimating techniques, cost control principles, and computerized cost estimating systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
• Civil
• Structural
• Mechanical
• Electrical
• Instrumentation & Controls (I&C)
• Pipeline
• Storage Facilities
• Maintenance & Reliability (M&R)
• Minimum 1–2 years of construction cost estimating experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Education:

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Relevant estimating experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
