Our client, a nonprofit organization dedicated to access to, education about and use of healthcare coverage, is seeking a Healthcare Coverage Specialist. Join a team that will inspire and reward you beyond a paycheck.
What you’ll do:
Assist uninsured Hoosiers find resources and understand the importance of healthcare and coverage programs.
Understand, explain, and communicate health coverage program regulations and policies.
Conduct phone interviews and assessments with applicants, occasionally with an interpreter.
Upload and submit required documentation through online portals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with individuals and community groups to improve community health.
Build expertise and provide training and support to underserved Hoosiers.
Represent the program throughout the state at conferences and community events.
Complete reports to track progress toward program objectives.
What you’ll need:
Associate degree and two to five years of relevant experience in a comparable position.
Ability to complete training and certification as a Navigator through the Indiana Department of Insurance.
Experience with health insurance, particularly Medicaid and the ACA Marketplace.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and verify information in real time.
Proficiency with technology, including online applications and web-based portals.
Comfort using online meeting platforms.
Ability to scan, upload, and submit supporting documentation accurately and promptly.
Willingness and ability to travel daily within a designated region.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Strong listening, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
A commitment to the mission while complying with State and Federal regulations.
Proven ability to work successfully in an an 80% remote role.
Preferred: Experience in nonprofit social services.
