North Homes Children and Family Services
Volunteer Opportunities
North Homes Children and Family Services is a comprehensive mental health services non-profit working primarily in Northern Minnesota. Our mission is to provide a community-based continuum of compassionate care to children and families. To us, this means offering a variety of programs to support clients wherever they are in their journey.
Our volunteer opportunities vary by location within our continuum of care. Possible duties could include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting staff and working with youth in our continuum (residential, school-based, or foster care/adoptive programs)
- Events (such as fundraising events, client celebrations, etc.)
- Office help (supporting administrative duties, social media support, etc.)
- Sharing your passion or expertise by facilitating/teaching skills or topics to youth within our continuum
After we receive your application, we will contact you and arrange for an interview in person or by video/phone with our volunteer coordinator. All information on this form will be kept confidential and will help us find the perfect volunteer project for you.
Requirements
Depending on program of interest, volunteer candidates must either be 18 years of age or 21 years of age or older in order to volunteer with our agency. Volunteer candidates must display a high degree of professionalism, commitment to agency values, and take pride in making a difference in the lives of others.
Please be advised that, since we work with a vulnerable population, we require a criminal background check. We will advise how this may be done in the most efficient way.
Additional onboarding and training maybe be required dependent on program and location.
