Industrial Automation Controls Technician

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime as needed.

A Day in the Life

• Start with a walk-through of PLCs, HMIs, DCS, VFDs, instrumentation, and supporting electrical systems to ensure stable operation.
• Jump on priority issues—troubleshoot faults, trace ladder logic, and bring equipment back online safely and efficiently.
• Partner with production, quality, and safety to identify root causes and implement durable fixes that improve reliability and product quality.
• Lead small technical upgrades and mentor technicians, reinforcing high-quality maintenance practices and documentation.
• Review electrical drawings and control documentation to plan maintenance, modifications, and continuous improvement tasks.

What You’ll Work On

• Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming plant control systems (PLCs, HMIs, DCS, VFDs, instrumentation, and electrical infrastructure).
• Diagnosing equipment issues and implementing improvements that elevate reliability, efficiency, safety, and finished goods quality.
• Providing hands-on guidance, training, and mentoring to technicians.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and ladder logic to support maintenance and optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience, including PLC programming, hardware, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics; experience with high and low voltage; capable of interfacing with ladder logic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Background in alcohol beverage, food & beverage, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing.
• Rockwell Automation controls training or certification.
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley and Panasonic PLCs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance.
