Controller

The Controller will be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and ensuring compliance with federal banking regulations. Prepare and present periodic financial reports and risk analysis to senior leadership, including the Board of Directors. Create budgets and forecasts. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Develop and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities. Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards, including preparing and filing regulatory, federal, and state reports. Coordinate with examiners and auditors and comply with their requests. Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters. Responsible for the company general ledger. Manage and oversee the Internal Auditor. Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field. 5+ years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred. Understanding of applicable laws and regulations. Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking. Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills. Proven experience in financial project management. Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel. Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand. Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting. Working Conditions The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Physical Requirements Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work. Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
