Program Manager IV - SRE

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and enterprise solutions sector, is seeking a Program Manager IV - SRE to join their team. As a Program Manager IV - SRE, you will be part of the Operations Support department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Program Manager IV - SRE Location: Chicago, Illinois (Remote options available) Pay Range: What's the Job? Own the integrated delivery plan for SRE deliverables, sequencing workstreams, defining milestones, and managing dependencies across application, infrastructure, and vendor teams. Drive SRE outcomes by leading initiatives such as runbook maturity, SLO/SLI definition, incident management, alert tuning, and resilience engineering to enhance service reliability and operability. Maintain program governance artifacts including the integrated program plan, RAID logs, dependency mapping, decision logs, and operational readiness dashboards; prepare concise executive materials and status reports. Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders, facilitate alignment, run risk and decision workshops, and resolve dependencies among Platform Ops, application owners, security, infrastructure, observability teams, and third‑party vendors. Track and report on program status, including weekly consolidated updates, dashboards, operational readiness views, and post‑change validation summaries during critical delivery windows. What's Needed? Minimum of 3+ years experience as a Senior Program Manager leading large, multi‑workstream technology initiatives. At least 7+ years overall experience in application and infrastructure delivery with proven exposure to SRE/observability programs. Experience managing enterprise programs focused on SRE outcomes such as SLO/SLI adoption, incident management, and platform hardening. Strong presentation skills with a history of engaging with VP/SVP/executive forums and maintaining program governance artifacts for leadership review. Ability to coordinate resources, manage risks, and escalated issues effectively to ensure smooth delivery and operational handoff. What's in it for me?
