Shift: 12-hour Mids/Eves shifts

Hours/Week: 36-40 hours

Employment Type: Contract

Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS

Experience: 1 year of ED experience (2 years for first-time travelers)

Patient Types: Neonatal to Geriatric; all ED patients including MS, stroke, cardiac, trauma, and mental health

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population
• Administer medications, perform IV starts, and manage patient monitoring
• Assist with patient assessments, documentation, and care planning
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, and ED educators
• Support patient admission, discharge, and transfer processes
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to start

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• NIHSS certification
• At least 1 year of ED experience (2 years for first-time travelers)
• Strong critical thinking and self-motivation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and hold admitted patients in ED

Preferred:

• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR
• Comfort with IV and medication management
• Excellent problem-solving skills and teamwork attitude
