IU Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified OB Hospitalist to join our established labor & delivery team, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, managing antepartum and postpartum patients, supporting midwives, and responding to OB emergencies within an advanced, contemporary facility. Position Highlights 168 shifts annually (mix of 12-hour days and nights, or can be structured into 24-hour shifts depending on team preference). Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units. Serve as operative backup for CNMs, including support for operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sections. Support the OBED during periods of high volume or acuity. Evaluate and manage consults from the ED and inpatient units. Perform key obstetric procedures including SVD, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and C-sections. Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries when needed, with GYN backup available. Optional teaching opportunities with rotating medical students.
