(Remote) Graphic Designer (West Coast), The Pivot Group - Est. Salary: $5225/MO Summary Pivot seeks a Graphic Designer to join our team ahead of the 2026 election cycle. This is a fully remote position in our Creative Department. Candidates must be able to work Pacific Time. Core hours for this position are 9-6PM PT. The Graphic Designer works with our award-winning creative and client services teams to produce polished, attention-grabbing materials. We are looking for people who love design, communicate well, think strategically, and are proactive, detail-oriented team players. Graphic Designers create quick and thoughtful solutions that meet client needs and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a full-time, temporary position through Election Day 2026 with competitive salary and excellent benefits. The nature of our business requires long hours during the election cycle, and we expect all staff to be flexible in this area. Weekend and evening work will be required. Qualifications Candidates for the Graphic Designer role must submit a portfolio, website, or other examples of previous design work. Applications without this information are considered incomplete. Special consideration will be given to candidates who also demonstrate: Fluency in Spanish. Ability to work PT hours. Understanding of digital and social media strategies. Prior agency experience. What you bring to the team: Portfolio of engaging, strategic work including illustration. Working knowledge of print design, pre-press, and commercial print processes. Ability to collaborate and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to help colleagues. Exceptional attention to detail; please include the word "penguin" in your cover letter. Responsibilities Creative Production Develop and create smart, strategic concepts that tackle big issues. Ready to work across platforms, including direct mail, brand identity, broadcast and digital. Translate concept memos from client teams into polished materials for democratic candidates and political organizations. Manage time efficiently to complete multiple assignments simultaneously. Format files correctly to ensure everything we produce is successful and ready to print. Design Pivot internal projects from social media to marketing materials. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with Creative Director and client teams to develop and problem solve any creative and content issues. Communicate ideas verbally and visually to team members and clients. Attend meetings to discuss upcoming projects, client needs, progress on current work, etc. Give and receive feedback on projects in a respectful and constructive manner Editing Process Address and interpret client edits that result in an optimal finished product. Adapt designs based on constructive feedback from the Design Director and Creative Director. Effectively respond to edits to materials from team members and clients. Maintain flexibility for unexpected and large-scale changes that need to be completed in a timely manner. Organization Create and maintain files for all creative assets and resources, such as software, art materials, and special fonts. Maintain design file structures. Ensure projects are in the right folders, are properly linked, have correct job codes, etc. Maintain and continue to expand our internal design tools. Approaches Manages Workload with Efficiency: Juggling competing demands and prioritizing without sacrificing quality. Especially during an election cycle, we juggle between direct mail, brand identity, and internal marketing design. Attention to Detail: Takes time to double check personal work as well as the work of other coworkers. Actively looks for document errors while making edits. Communicates with other departments when edits or concept memos are unclear. Effective Collaboration & Communication: Willingness to roll up sleeves and help colleagues. Communication is vital for all members of this team. Collaboration between designers and senior staff ensure work is produced correctly. The annual salary for this position is set at $5,525 per month. There is also the opportunity for end of election bonuses, based off individual and firm performance.
