ATTENDING PHYSICIAN, GENERAL MEDICINE - PART-TIME

Overview ATTENDING PHYSICIAN, GENERAL MEDICINE - PART-TIME at Cook County Health. Location: John H. Stroger Jr Hospital — General Medicine - Part-Time. Responsibilities Provide part-time general medical ambulatory care to adults in the primary care setting as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Conduct direct patient care sessions per week as assigned by the Division Chair. Work under the direction of the Clinic Lead of each clinical area or service of work. Travel to worksites throughout Cook County Health as needed. Collaborate with mid-level providers, participate in staff meetings, and complete all clinical duties in a timely fashion including charting of patient visits. Participate in teaching activities for medical students, house-staff, and other health professionals; maintain CME and participate in other professional activities. Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from an accredited college or university. Licensed as a Physician and Surgeon in the State of Illinois prior to starting employment. cleared for privileges by Medical Staff Services by start of employment. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine and must obtain board certification within two (2) years of starting employment. Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine prior to starting employment. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year of prior experience in primary care practice. One (1) year of experience with electronic medical record documentation. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of ACGME requirements and regulatory/compliance expectations. Ability to comply with clinical documentation, accreditation and regulatory requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with diverse populations. Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and travel to Cook County Health worksites. Analytical, organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adhere to department policies and maintain professional demeanor and composure. Ability to function autonomously as well as in a team. General safety awareness and compliance with department safety precautions.
