They must be proficient in the preparation, maintenance, and resupplying of anesthesia supplies and equipment, ensuring all necessary resources are ready for use in the operating room.Essential Work Functions:Anticipate the needs of the licensed anesthetist for specific anesthesia techniques using technical knowledgePerform first-level maintenance on anesthesia equipmentAssist with set-up, scrubbing, gowning, and gloving of self and teamClean, disinfect, stock, order, and maintain routine anesthesia equipment and suppliesProvide support for routine surgical cases by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of equipment and anesthesia delivery systemsEnsure that anesthesia-related documentation and equipment records are accurate and complete, in accordance with facility protocolsWork collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient carePractice infection prevention through consistent hand hygiene, use of PPE, and isolation precautionsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Essential Skills:Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
