Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Long Term Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Every Other Week Hours per Shift: 36 Hours per Week Experience: 2 Years License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Long Term Care Experience Description: Unit Notes: Department: Long Term Care RN Certifications Required: BLS No clinical involvement. Type of Facility: Long Term Care. Number of Beds/Residents: 26 beds. Electronic Medical Record: Matrix. Nurse Ratios: 1 nurse to 10 patients on days, 1 nurse to 19 patients at night. Common diagnoses/types of patients include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. Job Duties include acting as charge nurse, passing medications, and performing wound care. There are no IVs or titratable drips. No telemetry monitors are present; RN's do not read strips. RNs are not required to attend team conferences. The organizational structure includes a Director of Nursing, with no supervisors present. Physician availability after hours is by phone on-call. There is no interdisciplinary team; only Long Term Care patients. Physical Therapy is provided as needed; social worker designee is available. Respiratory Therapy is not on-site 24/7. Oxygen therapy and portable concentrators are available. Pharmacy is off-site with a medication dispensing system. Shifts are 12 hours, from 7 AM to 7 PM, without a blocked schedule or self-scheduling. Weekend requirements are every other week. Holiday requirements are every other major holiday. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is not required. Dress code requires being clean and presentable. There are 2 to 3 shifts of unit-specific orientation. Radius rule applies: candidates must reside within 50 miles. Requests for time off must be provided upfront, with limitations on additional requests. The hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting System: MatrixCare. A BSN is not required for submission. Trauma Level: Non-specified. Care Setting: Post-Acute. Division: Nursing. Shift Notes: Days every other week, and first to float as needed. Required Certifications: BLS Certification.
