Job purpose
Sell plastic injection-molded components to the automotive industry by developing new business, building client relationships, and providing technical consultation on material selection, tooling, and design for manufacturability. We have 2 locations Emporia, VA and Dallas, NC. Candidate will work out of one of those location, but handle sales for both locations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for plastic injection molding in the automotive sector.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Generate leads through networking and attending trade shows.
- Educate clients on the benefits and process of plastic injection molding.
- Partner with project engineers to advise customers on material selection, tooling, and design for manufacturability.
- Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce accurate quotes and technical proposals.
- Understand customer needs and target pricing for projects.
- Gather market trends and key sales metrics to report to leadership.
- Support clients with post-sales activities and address any issues.
- Communicate customer feedback to internal department for product and process improvements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or a related field.
- Must be able to speak and understand German. Will work heavily with our German counterparts.
Experience
- Proven sales experience, preferably in the automotive plastics industry or with injection molding.
- A strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and tooling.
- Experience in sales development, from identifying opportunities to closing deals.
Soft skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients.
- Ability to provide technical consultation and solutions.
- Negotiation skills for pricing and contracts.
- A good understanding of the automotive industry’s specific needs and requirements.
