  • Ensure daily patient requests for health care services are solicited, triaged, tracked, and documented through an accountable written system and within the electronic health record.

  • Support response to medical emergencies, including initial stabilization, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator use, emergency first aid, and safe transfer for higher-level care when required.
  • Support preparation and communication of medical transfer information, including current medications, diagnoses, appointments, equipment, and precautions needed for continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities and support review of treatment progress, record quality, and adherence to clinical requirements.
  • Support implementation of culturally competent and trauma-informed care practices for a diverse patient population.
  • Use professional in-person, telephonic, video, or bilingual language assistance resources to support accurate, timely, and effective communication with patients at no cost to the patient.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and timely medical documentation and support use of an Office of the National Coordinator-certified electronic health record system.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and restrict access to health and personal information to authorized personnel only, in accordance with applicable privacy and security requirements.
  • Support identification, escalation, and contract-timed reporting of serious medical conditions, serious mental disorders or conditions, suicide precautions, and emergency off-site care.
  • Support orientation, in-service education, and emergency readiness training for staff on required clinical and safety subjects.
  • Participate in maintaining Basic Life Support readiness and contract-required emergency preparedness, evacuation, and life-safety training.
  • Perform direct Registered Nurse duties as needed to meet patient care and operational needs.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
