Solar Assistant Controller

Solar Assistant Controller - Project Accounting will play a critical role in overseeing financial operations and orient, train, counsel, and communicate job expectations and enforce policies and procedures to Project Accountants (PAs) under their supervision, as well as lead all financial and fiscal management of the projects
In conjunction with other senior finance staff, this role will oversee day-to-day operations on issues related to project life cycle from project set up through project close out process
The Solar Assistant Controller - Project Accounting will evaluate project performance and provide analysis to project managers, finance department and other operational management groups
Experience with preparing and reviewing contractor billings and ability to advise and guide on complex billing issues
Experience reviewing and managing project-level financial reports (WIP, Dashboards, Cash Position & Forecasts)
Set up and implement procedures to ensure contractual requirements with respect to all financial aspects of contractual requirements
Coordinate with senior finance staff to enhance opportunities for project accounting team professional development
Establish and maintain organization processes and procedure manuals
Lead and manage cost forecasting process with Project Accountants and Senior Project Management
Manage all aspects of Project Lifecycle cost accounting and ensuring costs are in the correct period for accurate financial reporting and forecasting
Oversee all aspects of the Project Level Accounts Payable and vendor management
Participate in the development and implementation of changes to key processing systems
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and industry-specific accounting standards and stay up to date with changes in construction accounting standards
Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and procedures to optimize efficiency and accuracy
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Project / Financial Accounting / Solar Background
