Industrial Electrician – Syracuse / Camillus, NY Location Camillus, NY 13031 Employment Type Full Time Pay $39.30 per hour Shift 1st Shift (6 am - 3 pm) (may require overtime) Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical industrial equipment in a corrugated packaging plant. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical components on large scale production machinery, participate in PMs, support continuous improvement initiatives, and adhere to all safety regulations. You will provide resolutions to mechanical and electrical problems on a wide variety of paper and packaging machinery to keep our plant running at peak performance. Essential Job Functions Inspect, maintain, and repair plant-wide production equipment to keep everything running smoothly. Work hands-on with 480V 3-phase electrical power distribution systems. Apply electrical theory knowledge and troubleshooting to tackle issues. Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and plant drawings. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electrical faults in complex machinery. Install and wire motors for large machine tools and complex controls. Maintain and repair electrical controls and recording devices; perform routine calibration and testing. Ensure safety and compliance with NEC and local codes. What You Need to Succeed High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus. 3-5 years of Industrial Electrician experience in manufacturing environments a plus. Experience with 480V three-phase systems and various control voltages. Proficiency with electrical test equipment and reading schematics/blueprints. Strong troubleshooting and PLC/VFD experience; ability to work independently and under pressure. Valid electrical license or equivalent certification valued. Physical Requirements Stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Work in a loud, fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, dust, and chemicals. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and on-call as needed. Notes Position tied to Smurfit Westrock operations in the Syracuse/Camillus area with overtime opportunities.
