Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, NRP, BLS Must-Have: LDRP experience Couplet care Circulating in OR Description: Hiring Process includes candidate interviews with the clinical team. No unit manager involvement in the interview process. Candidates must provide a driver's license. Orientation includes 1-2 shifts of unit-specific training. RNs are required to float between Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units. Unit has 12 beds in total for LDRP and 1 OR suite for C-sections. The average number of births is about 1.5 per day. The facility follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-patient ratios. RNs are required to titrate drips, including pitocin. Charge nurses typically have patient assignments. There are surgical techs present on the unit. An OB/Neonatologist is not in house 24/7. Anesthesia staff are also not in house 24/7. There are no RT equipment such as vents or BiPap on the unit. Fetal monitoring is required, although adult telemetry is not available. The EFM system used is GE and OBIX. Self-scheduling is not available; scheduling is based on filling current shifts. Every other weekend shifts are required. There may be mandatory call or standby requirements per policy. Professional colors are expected for dress code. The hospital has a cancellation policy allowing cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. Trauma level for the facility is 3. The care setting is acute.
