Director of Accounting & Billing

We’re Hiring: Director of Accounting & Billing Denver, CO $120K–$145K base Join a nonprofit in a newly created leadership role overseeing both Accounting and Billing. Reporting directly to the SVP of Finance, you’ll have the opportunity to unify two critical functions, lead high-performing teams, and make a meaningful impact. Why this Opportunity? Flexible/hybrid work schedule Newly created Director-level role with executive visibility Lead two established departments and oversee approximately 14 team members Play a key role in organizational transformation and process improvement Drive ERP enhancements, automation initiatives, and future technology adoption Work for a nonprofit with a great mission Excellent benefits package and generous PTO Director of Accounting & Billing Responsibilities Lead and mentor the Accounting and Billing departments through two Associate Directors Provide strategic oversight while remaining engaged in day-to-day operations Oversee monthly financial reporting, billing operations, and internal controls Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal funding requirements Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and organizational initiatives Support audits, cash management, and risk mitigation efforts Drive process improvements, ERP optimization, automation, and AI initiatives Foster a coaching-first culture focused on collaboration and employee development Director of Accounting & Billing Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Passionate about people leadership and experience managing teams in a complex organization Strong accounting leadership experience with exposure to billing or revenue cycle operations Experience within a large nonprofit or similarly complex environment preferred ERP experience required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred CPA and healthcare, Medicaid, or government-funded program experience are a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Creative Financial Staffing, LLC
