The Clinical Laboratory Technologist in Blood Bank is responsible for performing laboratory tests related to blood banking, ensuring accuracy and quality in sample analysis. This role supports diagnostic testing and patient care by operating specialized equipment and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:
- Perform blood bank testing and analysis in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting as needed.
- Document test results accurately and timely to ensure data integrity.
- Follow safety procedures and adhere to regulatory guidelines for laboratory operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide precise laboratory data.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and ongoing staff training.
- Hold a valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (092) issued by NYSED with Primary Source Verification.
- Possess at least one year of clinical laboratory technologist experience specializing in blood bank.
- Have an Associate's Degree from an accredited laboratory tech program; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Maintain certification in BLS (Basic Life Support), preferred.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping skills.
