Join us and help push the boundaries of what can be built.
PurposeLead the planning, coordination, documentation, and continuous improvement of facility and equipment programs. Provides a word-class facility for employees and guests. Develops maintenance strategies and schedules, administers the CMMS, coordinates equipment installations and contracted services, monitors performance and budgets, and maintains records that support safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Ensures facility programs align with OSHA, State, Local, ISO 14001, ISO45001, AS9100D, and IATF 16949 requirements.
The Facility Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Facilities and leads the planning, administration, and documentation of facility and equipment programs. The role owns CMMS governance, preventive and predictive maintenance planning, equipment history, recurring-failure analysis, and program reporting. The Facility Manager establishes priorities, service levels, schedules, and performance measures; prepares operating and capital plans; and coordinates internal maintenance resources, contractors, vendors, process owners, operators, and consults with EHS personnel.
The Facility Manager reviews proposals and plans for new equipment and building-system changes, coordinates installation and commissioning activities, and verifies that required documentation, training, and preventive-maintenance plans are in place. The role monitors the reliability and condition of equipment including HVAC, plumbing, chillers, compressors, electrical systems, utilities, offices, and campus grounds through inspections, work-order data, vendor reports, and team feedback. It also plans inventory levels for critical spares and supplies, supports lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous-improvement initiatives, and maintains records needed for safety, environmental, and quality-system compliance.
This is primarily a planning, coordination, and oversight position. Qualified employees or service providers perform routine maintenance and repairs; direct technical work is limited to urgent assessment and guidance.
The Role
- Develop annual and multi-year facility, maintenance, and equipment-reliability plans aligned with operational priorities.
- Administer the CMMS, including asset records, work-order standards, preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, backlog review, equipment history, and reporting accuracy.
- Establish maintenance priorities, service levels, key performance indicators, and review routines for uptime, schedule compliance, response time, recurring failures, cost, and backlog.
- Prepare and monitor operating budgets, capital requests, project schedules, forecasts, and supporting business cases.
- Plan and coordinate equipment installations, relocations, upgrades, commissioning, and handoff to operations, including documentation and preventive-maintenance setup.
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance employees, contractors, and vendors; define scopes of work, obtain and evaluate proposals, schedule access, and verify completion and documentation.
- Review inspection findings, work-order trends, root-cause information, and vendor recommendations; document risks and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
- Maintain required inspection, maintenance, permit, warranty, training, and compliance records in an audit-ready condition.
- Partner with EHS, Quality, Engineering, Production, and other process owners on OSHA, environmental, ISO 14001, AS9100D, IATF 16949, LOTO, 5S, and continuous-improvement requirements.
- Develop contingency, shutdown, emergency-response, and business-continuity plans for critical facility systems and production-support equipment.
- Plan critical-spares and supply requirements, review inventory levels and usage, and coordinate purchasing to balance availability and cost.
- Communicate facility status, risks, priorities, project progress, and performance results to leadership and affected stakeholders.
- Periodically inspect facilities and equipment to validate condition, confirm work quality, and support planning; assign hands-on maintenance and repair work to qualified personnel or service providers.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in business administration, facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible facility, maintenance, or equipment-reliability experience; 7 years preferred.
- Experience planning work, administering a CMMS, coordinating contractors or projects, and supporting a manufacturing operation required.
- Experience in an ISO 14001, AS9100D/ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 accredited facility is a plus.
- Facility-management, project-management, safety, or relevant building-systems certification preferred. Forklift or HVAC certification is a plus when applicable to oversight responsibilities
- Office and production-floor environments; approximately 70% office, meeting, planning, and documentation work and 30% site observation, coordination, and inspection.
- Wet or humid conditions (non-weather): up to 10%
- Near moving mechanical parts: up to 20%
- High or elevated areas: up to 10%
- Fumes or airborne particles: up to 10%
- Toxic or caustic chemicals: up to 5%
