Subcontract Program Manager

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education/experience) from an accredited institution. Minimum 5 years of professional experience. Experience in Supply Chain, Engineering or Project Management. Hands‑on experience managing milestone schedules. Experience in the Missile industry, thriving in metric‑driven environments. U.S. citizen, currently possessing and able to maintain a U.S. SECRET clearance to support a government contract, and the ability to pass a drug and background check to meet eligibility for access to classified information. Key Responsibilities Manage suppliers on multiple programs of execution for the Theater Strike Weapon System Advanced Program. Oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance for several suppliers. Collaborate with stakeholders from across business areas to support expedited procurement activities. Lead cross‑functional subcontract management teams spread across the country from various organizations (Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Planning, Finance). Make informed decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor. Oversee milestone objectives to manage performance against committed schedules and contractual specifications. Present supplier performance to internal program and LOB executives and external DoD customers. Execute Supply Chain Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities as required. Manage impacts to subcontractor cost and program schedule. Balance competing demands between aggressive program schedule milestones and functional compliance responsibilities. Oversee the negotiation and coordination of additions, deletions, or modifications to subcontracts. Develop effective relationships with supplier leadership. Travel up to 25 percent to subcontractor locations. Desired Skills Experience working with subcontractors. Earned‑Value (EVM) and Control‑Account (CAM) management (certification a plus). Cross‑functional IPT/SMT leadership (quality, finance, engineering). Aerospace/defense domain experience (avionics, missile, ground systems). Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and creative‑problem‑solving skills. Growth‑mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement. Operations or operations leadership experience. Location and Travel This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Denver, CO, or Rocket City USA, Huntsville, AL, and be expected to work in the office. Up to 25 percent travel to subcontractor locations is required.
