Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring prior travel experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes surgical, orthopedic, SBO, urology/CBI, and diverticulitis cases
• Night shift, 5x8-hour shifts from 23:00 to 7:30
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• May float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units as needed
• Uses Epic for charting
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula use
• Experience with total joint replacement and orthopedic care
• Experience managing cardiac drips without titration
• Two references required for consideration, at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level care to a diverse med-surg patient population
• Must complete a pass/fail Telemetry test during orientation with an 80% passing score and only one attempt allowed
• Must also complete a pass/fail Medication exam at orientation
• Additional pre-start and orientation modules required, completed annually
• Preferred candidates will have previous charge nurse experience
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at the same bill rate
• Radius requirement of 200 miles for travel pay eligibility
• Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
