Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Variable start times between 10:30 AM and 12:30 PM, or earlier based on department need | On-call and standby may be required based on department needs | Weekend availability required with full scheduling flexibility | Expected weekly hours are subject to the facility's call-off policy

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity PACU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 (active recovery) and 1:3–4 (discharge area)
• Perform and manage airway management, mechanical ventilation, and extubation as indicated
• Monitor and manage pain control, cardiac monitoring, and fluid and electrolyte balance
• Deliver and document discharge instructions to patients and families
• Participate in on-call coverage, including up to one call shift per weeknight or one call shift every other weekend as needed, and one holiday call as needed
• Complete required pre-start modules (up to 10 hours, non-billable) and maintain accurate charting in Epic

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license in hand, or confirmed ETA for licensure posting required at time of submission
• BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric hospital experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (or higher)
• Critical care experience required; PICU RNs will be considered and may be trained to PACU by the manager
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience in a dedicated children's hospital or pediatric-specific care environment
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
• Experience with pediatric critical care, including PICU or similar high-acuity settings
