The right person for this position:

We’re looking for a seasoned electrical construction professional who has run large commercial projects and is ready to take full ownership of our most complex work. As a Senior Project Manager for our 1010 Division, you bring the experience, judgment, and field-first mindset to manage projects ranging from $1M to $10M+. You’re organized, financially sharp, and naturally collaborative—someone our field teams, customers, and fellow PMs can rely on. You thrive in fast-moving environments and bring steady leadership that elevates everyone around you.

Location:

Denver, Colorado. Local travel to jobsites required (via driving).

Responsibilities:

• Exemplify the Carlton Core – purpose and core values. Support company goals, growth, and development with a “field first” attitude.
• Build and maintain strong, profitable customer relationships through consistent communication and alignment on project goals.
• Lead integrated project teams, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and Carlton Electric standards.
• Manage financial aspects of projects, including accurate cost estimates, budget adherence, and monthly WIP reviews with the Controller and operations team.
• Manage and document change orders, ensuring proper approvals and scope adjustments.
• Identify and mitigate project risks to keep work on track and within budget.
• Collaborate daily with construction operations, purchasing, project coordination, and field operations teams.
• Review customer contracts, ensuring a clear understanding of scope, responsibilities, and risk exposure.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to the PM team—sharing best practices, supporting problem-solving on complex issues, and contributing to the development of PM processes and standards.
• Know how to support the field (Our #1 priority for PMs here).

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of project management experience with electrical or mechanical contractors.
• Demonstrated track record managing complex commercial projects in the $5M–$10M+ range.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer relationship skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word; experience with Viewpoint/Spectrum, Bluebeam, and Procore preferred.
• Deep working knowledge of labor productivity tracking, cost-to-complete creation, and WIP schedules.
• Experience with scheduling software such as P6 or Microsoft Project preferred.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Electrical field experience or a journeyman electrician’s license strongly preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.

Reporting:

The Senior Project Manager reports to the Director of Construction Operations.

Working Conditions:

• Typical office setting noise levels to be expected. Semi-open office concept.
• Frequent travel to jobsites, both indoor and outdoor with variable weather conditions, will be required.

Compensation Package

Location: Denver, Colorado

Start Date: TBD

Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Schedule: Schedule: General working hours of Monday-Friday 7:00AM – 4:30PM. Flexible hours, but work may require nights and weekends depending on project needs.

Pay Rate: $130,000-$150,000+ depending on experience. *

*This pay rate is the good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of this job posting. Carlton Electric reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted rate if they believe the new range is determined in good faith. Carlton Electric reserves the right to adjust compensation based on, but not limited to, approved factors such as seniority, merit, quantity and/or quality systems, location, education and/or training, and required travel.
