Your Role at Cabot:Cabot Corporation is seeking a Category Sr Buyer to join the North America Procurement team at the Alpharetta, GA location. This role is responsible for regional support for the chemicals category among the US and Canada manufacturing sites.In this role you would handle the execution of end-to-end procurement activities within onsite services, ensuring policy compliance and cost–effective, value-driven solutions. This role involves managing strategic sourcing events, negotiating contracts, and leveraging Coupa for purchase requisitions, approvals, procurement data, and supplier management. The Category Sr Buyer acts as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure operational efficiency, supply continuity, and continuous performance improvement. This role is based at the Alpharetta, GA location, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).How You’ll Make an Impact: Operational ProcurementManage end-to-end purchasing process using Coupa, including requisition review, PO creation, purchasing form and template management, contracting, and approvals.Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance frameworks, and GBS standards. Monitor and resolve issues related to invoices, deliveries, and supplier performance.Contribute to procurement cost improvement and savings target delivery.Sourcing & NegotiationConduct RFQs/RFPs for mid-value purchases and negotiate pricing and terms.Support category managers in implementing sourcing strategies and supplier consolidation.Help develop category roadmaps aligned with business objectives and long-term sourcing strategies.Create and maintain pricing catalogs, order forms, and RFx templates.Supplier ManagementMaintain accurate supplier data in Coupa and ensure onboarding compliance.Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues as needed.Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with internal teams to understand requirements and provide guidance on procurement best practices.Act as a point of contact for queries related to Coupa processes and procurement policies.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency within Coupa.Support GBS initiatives for automation and digital procurement transformation.People Leadership & DevelopmentMay mentor Buyers and support onboarding of new team membersPromote a culture of continuous improvement and collaborationWhat You’ll Bring to Cabot:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.3+ years’ experience in procurement or buying roles.Experience in manufacturing, specialty chemicals, carbon materials, or industrial products highly preferred.Chemical Market highly preferred.Experience managing multimillion-dollar spend categories across multiple facilities.Experience negotiating chemical supply agreements and commercial terms.Hands-on experience with Coupa or similar e-procurement platforms.In-depth knowledge of tactical sourcing and category execution.Proficiency in site-level procurement leadership and alignment with category strategy.Understanding of category traits (market conditions, suppliers, news & trends, & performance metrics and escalation protocols).Strong negotiation and communication skills.Knowledge of procurement governance and compliance requirements.Detail-oriented and process-driven.Strong stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with digital procurement tools and analytics (and escalation protocols).Knowledge of global procurement policies and audit requirements.Skills in mentoring and supporting team development.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.How We’ll Support Your Success:Dynamic, Flexible, Hard Working, Team Environment – We are busy, collaborative, growing, and we are doing meaningful work.Growth –Training, great peer coaching and support, and the ability to personally grow your influence, your position, and your compensation.Meaningful Work that is Valued – Customers are demanding sustainable solutions without compromising quality or performance.
