Clinical Pharmacist - Per Diem

About the Facility A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. The campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. Role and Responsibilities Staff Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling, and teaching. They fill orders for medications, monitor patient drug therapies, provide drug information, and supervise supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff Clinical Pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Pharmacist In Charge. Career development opportunities within UHS and its 300+ Subsidiaries! Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) strongly preferred. PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency training preferred. Experience One year acute care experience in a hospital setting is required. IV Room Compounding experience preferred. Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports. Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy. Skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Effective interpersonal skills with patients, coworkers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities. Ability to maintain department workflow and provide oversight and direction to pharmacy technicians. Ability to elevate safety concerns, propose action plans, and follow Chain-of Command. License / Certification Current license to practice as a Pharmacist in the State of Florida is required. Board Certification preferred.
