If you are looking for a rewarding career and possess specialized knowledge and quality-oriented problem-solving skills, Position Summary To purchase goods and services for PROENERGY services in an efficient manner following established procedures and in an economic manner through vendor negotiations. Reports To: Purchasing Manager Work Location: 6401 North Eldridge Pkwy, Houston, TX 77041 Position Responsibilities Coordinate with Production Planning and Scheduling teams to align procurement timelines with manufacturing needs, ensuring material availability supports build schedules and minimizes downtime. Monitor supplier performance and lead times, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to avoid production delays, especially for long-lead and critical-path components. Drive cross-functional collaboration between Procurement, Operations, and Logistics to ensure timely follow-through on purchase orders, expedite critical materials, and maintain visibility on delivery schedules. Collaborating with Operations on forecast demand planning on long lead time items to instill in Procurement schedules. Manage and expedite purchase orders to ensure suppliers meet delivery requirements on time. Responsible for support and guidance to Engineering, Project Managers, and PES management on information, implementation, and administration of contract/subcontract procedure. Proactively resolve grievances, warranty claims, quality non-conformance, or delivery issues with suppliers. Ability to interface effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance and Program Management functions. Work with Quality Manager and suppliers on cost of failure recovery. Responsible for sourcing, quoting and placement of purchase orders including direct manufacturing components and indirect (non-production) material and services. Negotiate pricing with suppliers based on volume, delivery, quality, and customer service. Responsible for purchasing high volume hardware with blanket purchase orders or vendor managed inventory. Investigate new sources of materials and services to drive better cost, delivery, and quality. Develop, initiate, and maintain effective and professional relationships with current and potential suppliers. Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Responsible for creating purchase orders and management. Must be able to manage budgets and avoid delay costs including shipping. Negotiate with suppliers on high cost, long lead time, limited source components. Experience purchasing hardware with supplier scope and lead times up to 18 months. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business and/or 3-5 years of progressive purchasing experience. Knowledge of economics and budgeting. Strong negotiation skills; strong decision making and problem-solving capabilities. Strong communications skills. Ability to read engineered drawings. Ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international supplier visits. Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc. US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa. Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check. Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Interacting With Computers -- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
