Whole Hearted Senior Home Care is a growing New England non-medical home care agency, and we're hiring caregivers for full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules. We have more client hours than we can fill right now, and we're looking for people who want a consistent schedule, regular clients, and a company that actually answers the phone.

You don't need a license for this role. What we care about is experience: two or more years of hands-on caregiving is strongly preferred, because it means you already know how to walk into someone's home, read the situation, and take care of them. If you have a little less than that but a strong track record, apply anyway and tell us about it.

A typical week

• A set schedule with a consistent group of clients you get to know

• Personal care: bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, mobility support, medication reminders

• Meals, light housekeeping, errands, and companionship — the daily support that keeps clients living at home

• Documenting each visit and any change in a client's condition in our app before you leave

• Checking in with the office when something needs attention

Most weeks you'll see the same people. Some weeks you'll be the first caregiver into a new client's home, working from a detailed rundown the office gives you before you arrive. We need people who can handle both.

You're a fit if you have

• 2 or more years of hands-on caregiving experience (home care, assisted living, nursing home, hospital, or family caregiving with references) — strongly preferred

• Reliability — when you're on the schedule, clients are counting on you to be there

• Strong communication — you answer calls and texts, confirm your schedule, and keep the office in the loop

• Genuine compassion for older adults and people living with disabilities

• Confidence working on your own in someone's home

• A valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and current auto insurance

• The ability to pass a background check, plus a TB test and physical from the last 12 months (we'll point you to a clinic if you need one)

• Openness to overnight shifts is a big plus — we have overnight clients who need consistent, dependable coverage

• Dementia experience or an LNA/CNA/HHA background is a plus and earns a higher rate

Full-time, part-time, or per diem — how it works

Pick the one that fits your life and tell us when you apply. You can move from per diem to part-time to full-time as we add clients.

• Full-time: 40 hours a week, a guaranteed schedule, paid time off after one year, and first priority on hours.

• Part-time: About 20 hours a week on a consistent schedule, with extra shifts available whenever you want them.

• Per diem: You tell us your availability and we send you shifts that fit — call-outs, open shifts, and new client starts. Minimum one shift per week to stay on the active roster. Per diem pays a bit more per hour because it comes with no guaranteed hours, and it is the fastest way in the door if you want to grow into part-time or full-time.

We'd rather tell you now than surprise you later.

1. Where you stand on hours. If client hours ever dip, full-time caregivers keep their hours first, then part-time, then per diem. That's not the situation today — we have more shifts than we can fill — but you should know how it works.

2. You'll sometimes go in cold. New client, no prior visit, just a thorough briefing from the office. Being willing to do this is part of the job and earns a higher rate.

3. Extra shifts count. We track who picks up additional coverage each month. The people who say yes get first call on the best hours, stronger reviews, and the first look at full-time openings.

4. Training is paid and required. Orientation is paid. Dementia-specific training is required unless you already hold a certificate. Experienced caregivers move through it faster and start with clients sooner.

Where this can go

Annual reviews and raises are tied to availability, willingness to fill in when asked, willingness to travel, and what your clients say about you. As we grow, our lead and training roles come from the full-time team first.
