Java Developer

We are seeking a Junior Java Developer to join a high-impact engineering team supporting operational systems within a large-scale airline environment. This role will play a key part in modernizing legacy systems and migrating critical applications to the cloud (Azure) . This is an opportunity to work on complex, real-world systems that directly support airline operations and decision-making. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the migration of legacy on-prem applications to Azure Operational management systems Air traffic coordination platforms Cloud-based services Assist in: Backend development using Java + Spring Boot Frontend updates using Angular Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and enhancing existing systems Work with team members to implement business logic and application features Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps efforts where needed Collaborate within an Agile team environment across multiple squads Required Qualifications 0–2 years of experience in software development Strong foundation in: Java Object-oriented programming Experience or familiarity with: Spring Boot (or similar frameworks) Frontend frameworks (Angular preferred) Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile practices Preferred Qualifications Exposure to: CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) DevOps concepts Experience working on full-stack applications Coursework or exposure to distributed systems or streaming tools (e.g., Flink) What Success Looks Like Within the first few months: Begin contributing to development tasks and user stories Gain familiarity with system architecture and business workflows Support ongoing cloud migration efforts Long term: Become a reliable contributor across multiple applications Help accelerate modernization initiatives Culture & Team Fit We’re looking for candidates who are: Curious and eager to learn Comfortable asking questions and engaging in discussions Collaborative and team-oriented Open to feedback and working within a complex domain #J-18808-Ljbffr
