Job Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets. Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings. Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner. Advocates for patients' rights and provides counsel while acting as a resource. Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes. Documents all patient care activities and assists team members with documentation. Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes and revises plans of care as needed. Makes clinical decisions based on experience, data and intuition. Communicates effectively, works cooperatively with others, and respects other clinical disciplines. Assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs and measuring education outcomes. Provides direction and guidance to others, serves as clinical resource, preceptor, mentor and delegates patient care activities. Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and coordinates with the team. Demonstrates self‑development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintaining a continuing education record. Evaluates clinical and quality outcomes and contributes to performance improvement initiatives. May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years they must provide a plan to complete a BSN within 5 years. Experience: 1 year as a Registered Nurse in a Critical Care unit or completion of a critical‑care fellowship. Certification: BLS & ACLS from the American Heart Association; licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia or an active multi‑state RN license. Preferred Qualifications Experience: Prior Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Telemetry or Medical Surgical Telemetry preferred.
