Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

RN BMT

Schedule: Shifts: Days/Nights or Nights (12-hour rotating assignments possible; shift assignments reviewed every 4 weeks)

Requirements:

• Minimum: 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and oncology experience (must meet specialty requirements within the past 3 years)
• Experience: 2 years preferred
• Heme-oncology experience strongly preferred
• Travel assignment experience required
• References: 2 professional references required (at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, ONS chemotherapy certification (chemotherapy certification NOT required)
• Charting system: EPIC required
• Licensure: RN must have valid state or compact license in hand at the time of submission

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a hematology-oncology unit, focusing on transplant and cellular therapy
• Monitor and manage patient care in a mixed-acuity setting, including telemetry and medical-surgical patients
• Administer medications and treatment plans as prescribed, including blood products and IV therapies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, social work, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and care procedures

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 72 hours
• Background/fingerprinting: Candidates must complete fingerprints immediately after signing contract
• Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine NOT required; Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Former employees eligible after 6 months away; current facility employees ineligible for traveler positions at this facility
