About the role As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical matters. You will support plasma center operations, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, provide AIDS education, interview medical history, conduct physical examinations, perform blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and follow applicable medical emergency procedures, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when findings require guidance on medical or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER for further evaluation, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
