Tooling Specialist - Early Career

Description Operate and maintain F‑22 Mod Tools and related equipment, including acquisition, acceptance, storage, and distribution to multiple modification sites (depots and field teams) and workshare partners. Track, maintain, and replace Consolidated Tool Kits (CTKs), various support equipment, and bench stock. Disburse tooling in accordance with established systems. Support depot and field teams, distributing tools using best shop practices. Maintain stock‑level controls and place requisitions utilizing the System Acquisition Plan (SAP) and MAXIMO systems for asset management. Plan, coordinate, and direct engineering assignments involving specifications, design changes, or alterations to aircraft, engines, systems, components, and field or shop equipment. Investigate and analyze project requirements and operating problems, and develop recommended solutions to meet company, site, and governmental safety and performance standards (e.g., Minimum Equipment List, MEL). Evaluate, select, apply, and/or adapt engineering modifications; design or recommend new or modified parts and components; analyze reparability of parts and components. Analyze operating data on parts, components, and systems to establish causes and determine remedies for wear, malfunctions, or premature removals. Analyze and evaluate aircraft and associated equipment proposals; prepare technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required publications. Use a P‑Card to purchase small batch items in support of modification tooling operations. Prepare and maintain necessary statuses, shortages, and other reports and records utilizing the Miscellaneous Small Parts (MSP) book. Maintain stock levels in support of modification operations and procure material for indicated shortages via SAP or MAXIMO. Perform inventory control, inventory reports, inventory inspections, and participate in audits and modification kit management duties. Ship and receive calibrated tooling and track calibration due dates in accordance with QA requirements and the Fort Worth calibration lab. Receive tools and materials from depots and field teams for storage, documenting assets in and out activities with MAXIMO. Provide monthly reports of shortages and other records to F‑22 depots and field teams. Perform light operational checks on equipment for readiness to support requirements. Prepare purchase orders (POs) in support of modification tooling. Basic Qualifications Any engineering degree, mechanical degree or similar degree from an accredited school. Typical 0‑2 years of experience. Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Ability to travel between FTW Plant, CEVA, and other local FM/sites, as required. Ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance. Self‑starter with excellent communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Desired Skills Familiarity with SAP and MAXIMO systems. Familiarity with Tableau. Basic electrical knowledge for power‑on/off checks, systems checks, and functional checks of modification tools. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematics.Veteran/working knowledge of military terms and phrases. Familiarity with the FM/Plant. Familiarity with the F‑35 aircraft, specifically structures experience. Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; the candidate must be a U.S. citizen. Clearance level: Secret. Location and Schedule Work location: Onsite full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Schedule for this position: 4 × 10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.
