Scranton Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram is looking for an experienced, driven Sales Manager to join our management team.

We are looking for more than someone to simply manage the desk. We want a hands-on sales leader who can help move the needle on both retail volume and gross profit.

The right candidate will be highly involved with the sales team and our customers, have strong closing skills, and understand how to coach and develop sales professionals to consistently improve performance.

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate:

• Has previous automotive sales management experience , preferably with a new-car franchise dealership.
• Has a proven ability to increase retail sales volume while maintaining gross profit .
• Is a strong closer and is comfortable getting involved directly with customers.
• Understands proper desking and deal structure.
• Can effectively appraise and structure trades.
• Coaches, trains, and holds sales professionals accountable.
• Reviews CRM activity, leads, appointments, follow-up, and unsold traffic.
• Knows how to create urgency and maintain a high-energy sales floor.
• Understands inventory and works to move both new and used vehicles.
• Is comfortable working with lenders and Finance.
• Has some F&I experience or knowledge - preferred, but not required.
• Leads by example and is willing to do whatever is necessary to help the department succeed.

Requirements:

 

Key Responsibilities

The Sales Manager will be responsible for helping drive the overall performance of the Sales Department, including:

• Increasing new and used retail sales volume.
• Maximizing front-end and total deal gross.
• Desking and structuring deals.
• Taking manager TOs and assisting with closing customers.
• Reviewing and approving trade appraisals.
• Coaching sales professionals daily.
• Conducting one-on-one performance discussions.
• Monitoring CRM activity and lead follow-up.
• Reviewing appointments and helping improve appointment show and closing rates.
• Managing inventory, pricing, and aged units.
• Working closely with the Finance Manager to maximize total deal profitability.
• Helping maintain a professional, accountable, and results-driven sales culture.

Compensation

This is a salary plus monthly commission position.

Monthly commission is based on total Sales Department gross profit , allowing the successful candidate to directly benefit from improving both dealership volume and profitability.

Compensation will be competitive and based on experience and performance.

The right person will not wait for traffic or make excuses when the department is behind. They will work the CRM, coach the team, get involved with customers, help close deals, manage inventory, and continually look for opportunities to improve.
