Dock Staff Job Announcement Role Description: This is a part-time, on-site role located in Carolina Beach, NC. The Dock Staff will be responsible for working with other staff members to clean, maintain, and prepare boats for daily use by members. This role also involves assisting members with boarding and departing boats safely, fueling boats up as needed, and monitoring conditions at the docks for safety hazards. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Spark Joy and Delight . We intentionally create moments that make people feel genuinely welcomed, cared for, and excited to be part of the Freedom Boat Club experience. Beyond meeting expectations, we look for opportunities to surprise, uplift, and enhance the experience of our members and teammates. Sparking joy and delight looks like warm, memorable interactions, thoughtful attention to details, and a service mindset that turns routine moments into positive experiences. We are transforming the transactional nature of service into a relationship-centered environment where members look forward to returning, employees feel proud of their work, and the Freedom Boat Club experience is both convenient and truly enjoyable. Carry the Cooler . We willingly take on the hard, unglamorous, and often unseen work so our members can fully enjoy the freedom of boating. Much like a person tasked with carrying the family cooler from the car to the beach, our work can lack glamour. Our tasks can be heavy and may slap us in the knees. We have a service-first mindset that is rooted in reliability and pride. When we carry the cooler, we remove friction, reduce stress, and protect the member experience. It is how we turn effort into ease, work into trust, and preparation into unforgettable days on the water. Learn to Teach, Teach to Learn . Great experiences on the water are built on shared knowledge, continuous improvement and mutual respect. Boating is both a skill and a responsibility, and we commit to learning deeply so we can teach clearly, confidently, and safely. We invest in understanding our craft, vessels, systems, safety, and service. Then, we pass that knowledge onto members and teammates in ways that are approachable and empowering. At the same time, we remain curious and open: listening to feedback, learning from real-world experiences, and improving our methods through collaborating and reflection.
