Registered Nurse Surgical Ortho Trauma

Job Summary As a registered nurse you will provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured patients. Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient’s condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; providing a full range of nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems; and maintaining the qualification standards. Responsibilities Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology. Required Qualifications Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Texas or a Compact state. Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification. Completion of an RN/LVN program leading to licensure. Read and write basic English with the necessary skill level to understand and convey physicians' orders. No prior experience required. Preferred Qualifications Preferred experience as an RN for 1–2 years. BSN degree. Specialty certification or training as appropriate. Ability to move an excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Computer literacy. Ability to manage a team and collaborate with others to ensure quality patient care. Strong problem‑solving skills.
