Lead Data Technician

$20 - $30 per hour

Job Title: Lead Cable Technician (with travel)

Location: Birmingham, AL

Pay Rate: $20 - $30/hr

Position Summary:
Overtime available! Anistar is seeking an experienced Structured Cable Technicians to aid with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables as well as security/access control equipment. MUST be comfortable working from a lift.

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
Technicians MUST have experience working with various cables. Cable installation includes pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling. BICSI cert (current or past) a plus but not needed. IDF/MDF, rack install, fiber termination and testing experience a plus. We are looking for individuals who will pay attention to detail and work efficiently under minimal supervision.

Must have experience with the following:

Daily per diem, mileage, drive time, and OT provided if traveling
Must be willing to use their own vehicle
Corning Unicam or Panduit Opticam terminations
Capable of working independently
Proficient with fiber and copper
Service/troubleshoot network/POS systems
Pulling, routing, installing and terminating structured cabling infrastructure in a commercial environment.
2+ years' experience LEADING installing and servicing voice and data systems in a commercial environment.
Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA or NEC Standards.
Ability to provide two professional references.
