Manager, Inbound Planning (Origin)

PURPOSE

Partner with adidas Global Logistics, Market Supply Chain functions and 3PLs to create On Time availability to our Wholesale and Direct to Consumer channels. Manage and plan the flow of goods and accurate data from factories across the globe to our Distribution Centers or direct delivery to our customers. Additionally, create efficiencies on the flow to reduce cost. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PEOPLE

• Manage and nurture an inclusive and high-performing team through development, feedback, mentoring and coaching. 

• Define and communicate Performance Targets, goals, coaching, and guidance in alignment with the Senior Leadership and Supply Chain Management (SCM) targets globally and regionally. 

• Provide effective management, performance feedback, employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, when necessary, in collaboration with Human Resources. 

• Ensure strong relationships and smooth collaboration with all direct reports, internal and external partners, and colleagues on all interfaces. 

OPERATIONS & STRATEGY

• Responsible for correct planning of the flow of finished goods from origins to ports to both US and Canada. 

• Be key liaison to cross-functional teams such as Account Operations, Direct Ship, Inbound Destination Teams to ensure on time availability of goods, priorities are met, and exceptions are managed accurately in a timely manner. 

• Develop appropriate reporting and KPI’s to support and measure achievement of team objectives and targets. 

• Work with Global Logistics teams and third-party vendors on successful execution of expectation, projects and on improving processes, tools and systems to better support the needs of the business. 

• Ensure systems reflect complete and correct information and that an accurate availability picture is maintained. 

• Lead regular meetings with stakeholders (3PLs, DCs, Transportation, Account Operations, etc.) to share availability projections, KPI’s, manage exceptions, priorities and expectations.

• Manage hold at origin process from a market lens to guarantee early/late shipments are under control. Keep pushing for initiatives to ensure just in time.

• Owner of Market Delivery Date (MDD) and Inbound Priority Indicators (IPI) process, keeping the methodology up to date and ensuring origin teams are acting to the market input. 

• Ensure Delivery Complete Indicators (DCI) are managed by the team and system data is clean.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Working experience in international transportation/logistics and/or other supply chain functional team. 

• Good overall knowledge of supply chain mechanics and flow of goods from sourcing to customer. 

• Operational and project management skills. 

• Analytical and process thinking. 

• Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning, organization and delegation skills. 

• Ability and experience to lead, coach and motivate a team. 

• Good presentation skills. 

• Strong and clear communication skills. 

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• College degree or equivalent, preferably with a focus in supply chain management; alternatively equivalent combination of education and related working experience in the field of Logistics, Footwear and/or Apparel. 

• Minimum 5 years working experience, preferably in a Supply Chain Management function. 

• Minimum 2 years experience with managing people. 

• Strong skills in ERP (SAP)/WMS systems.

• Competent user in Microsoft Office applications. 

• Fluent in English (oral and written).
