This role involves developing new next-generation sequencing assay products and supporting existing offerings through a combination of experimental and computational work. The Staff Scientist will design and conduct experiments, analyze results, and present findings to internal and external partners. An advanced degree in life sciences with 5–8+ years of NGS product development experience is required, along with proficiency in both wet-lab nucleic acid preparation and dry-lab bioinformatics analysis.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiments for new NGS assay product development using wet-lab and computational approaches
- Analyze and interpret experimental results, communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Provide subject matter expertise supporting commercially available NGS products
- Present product demonstrations at scientific conferences
Requirements
- M.Sc. in life sciences or related field with 8+ years NGS product development experience, or Ph.D. with 5+ years NGS product development experience
- Wet-lab experience preparing nucleic acids for NGS sequencing
- Dry-lab programming skills for NGS data analysis
- Foundational knowledge of human genetics, cancer biology, and statistics
- Industry experience developing and supporting NGS products with software components
- Ability to develop bioinformatics workflows for NGS assays accessible to non-technical users
Compensation: $120,000-$140,000 base plus eligible bonus/incentive pay
