NON-MANAGEMENT JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Classification: NON-EXEMPT – Flex shifts Reports to: Program Manager Salary Range: $19.40-$21.40 Benefits: Click Here to view LCFS’ Full-Time Employee Benefits. Essential Functions Primarily responsible for supervising residents throughout the home, engaging them in social and recreational activities to ensure safety and wellbeing. Utilize trauma informed frameworks, harm reduction practices and restorative conversations when interacting with young people. Transport youth to appointments, school and activities as needed. Implement weekly psychoeducational and life skills curriculum and recreational groups. Provide a nurturing environment conducive to emotional growth, holding young people accountable and implement behavioral management system. Maintain required records, communicate with staff. Assist with medication management. Assist with housekeeping and maintenance, food purchase and food preparation and household supplies. Work cooperatively with staff, community groups, DCFS and placing agencies. Attend and participate in staff meetings and required professional development. Accountable for proper usage of all agency and client funds. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Ability Requirements Proficient in trauma-informed frameworks and practices for creating a safe environment. Skilled in implementing positive behavior strategies for youth development. Experienced in developing tailored psychoeducational programs. Knowledgeable in safe administration and handling of medications. Proficient in de‑escalation techniques and crisis response protocols. Strong teamwork and communication skills with diverse stakeholders. Accurate and confidential documentation of resident progress and incidents. Competent in providing transport and assisting with household tasks. Background and Driving Requirements Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background checks, including but not limited to criminal background checks and CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) checks, as required by law and agency policy. Candidates must also possess a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license and must not have had a suspended or revoked driver’s license within the past three years. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred. Experience in youth care or residential settings is a plus. And additional training in trauma‑informed care and behavioral management is desirable. Physical Demands and Other Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties listed in the job description satisfactorily. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Capable of operating standard office equipment, including a computer and keyboard, calculator, typical business machines such as a fax machine and copier. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle. The work environment characteristics include a noise level which is usually low to moderate. EEOC_KnowYourRights Internships Internships in 360 Counseling Department 360 Youth Services accepts interns interested in gaining experience in the mental health field. Internship opportunities are available for all Master’s level students working towards their degree in clinical mental health, or clinical social work. Internships can begin at any semester or quarter of the University’s Master’s program. Interns will be provided weekly supervision by a fully licensed clinician. Group supervision is also implemented in addition to individual supervision. There are also opportunities for the intern to participate in clinical training throughout the internship. 360 Youth Services offers a flexible schedule to our interns; however; you must provide availability for daytime hours and 1-2 evenings per week. The internship involves providing therapy with your own caseload working primarily with youth ages 11-25 and/or their families. Caseloads will be developed through our community partnerships with schools, local law enforcement and DuPage County juvenile probation. Services provided are through individual counseling and crisis counseling; as well as family and group counseling. Interns will gain experience providing crisis intervention services through our CCBYS program in conjunction with local law enforcement to service youth who have runaway or been locked out by their parents/guardians. Interns will provide on-call crisis coverage, (3-5 shifts a month, including weekends and holidays) as part of the internship. Internship Requirements Cover Letter and Resume Willingness to submit a background screening. Must be enrolled in a Master’s level program. Must have transportation and be willing to travel to different sites to provide services in local schools and at local police departments. Social Work Internships in Transitional Housing Programs Please read the following information about interning in the Housing Department at 360 Youth Services. The Housing Department accepts Master’s level internship applications for MSW students on a rolling basis beginning 12/1 for the school year (or until all three spots are filled). Each year, 360’s Housing Department accepts internship applications starting in December for students pursuing their Master’s in Social Work. Ultimately, 360 aims to select three interns each year to work with young people in our transitional housing programs for youth ages 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness. Details Our housing programs are located near downtown Naperville. Internships typically start in August and end in May. We require that interns spend at least 2 semesters with the program and ideally span at least 9 months. Given the population that we serve, we do not want adults in and out of our young people’s lives so quickly so we cannot accommodate 3-6 month internships. The internship is ideal for students interested in working with youth experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ+ youth, individuals interested in social justice, etc. Interns will provide case management and 1:1 support for 2-3 residents and have the opportunity to run groups and teach life skills. Requirements to Apply Submit a Resume and Cover Letter (detailing your interest in working with this population) 2 Letters of Recommendation at the time of application (a 3rd will be required before starting an internship at 360 Youth Services) Willingness to work between 16-20 hours per week, with at least one full day shift.
