Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM; Rotational Saturdays

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Phlebotomist I to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will serve as the face of the organization, interacting directly with patients and ensuring a positive experience while collecting high-quality blood specimens for laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy expertise, attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing according to established procedures.
• Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing duties.
• Verify patient information and maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Explain collection procedures clearly to patients and address their concerns professionally.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Complete daily assignments accurately and within established timelines.
• Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Demonstrate professionalism, leadership behaviors, and commitment to operational excellence.
• Adapt to varying staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call responsibilities when required.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Experience

• Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required.
• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws preferred.
• Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service environment preferred.
• Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
